Exton Apiary is a small, family owned operation located in Allen County, Ohio. We specialize in 100% pure and natural non-pasteurized honey product in various sizes and styles. Owner, Jeff Exton began raising bees as a young adult with his father in the NE Ohio area back in the early 1980's. In the mid-1980's, Jeff relocated to Allen County but did not get back into beekeeping right away. In 2001, Jeff's interest in bees was rekindled and he decided to start again with a single hive. Jeff taught his daughters everything he knew about beekeeping and they occasionally go along to help tend what has become five hives.

There are no immediate plans for operational growth, however, due to the nature of bees and the machines our bees have become, Jeff might not have a say in future growth! Last years production was the most we have ever seen and a couple of the hives grew rapidly in numbers and honey production. This years harvest is almost underway and we are excited to see what our busy little bee's have done for us this year!

We primarily use New World Carnolians because of their extremely gentle nature and resistance to parasitic mites. They are a good breed for anyone just getting into the hobby. We also have one hive with an Italian queen which has done very well.

Jeff and his family enjoy the beekeeping hobby and look forward to bringing you some of the finest Allen County honey products at reasonable prices.

Exton Apiary also provides swarm removal services.  Should you come across a cluster off honey bees on a tree limb or bush, or a swarm that you are unsure of, on your property feel free to contact us.  We will gladly come to your site and inspect the swarm.  If they are indeed honey bees, we will remove them for you.  Prices vary depending upon ease of removal and site location.
